Jose Reyes, originally from Corpus Christi, TX currently holds a USSF National C and National D Coaching Licenses, Advanced Regional Diploma, is on the STYSA ODP Staff, and had been training in the Coastal Bend for over 14 years. He was the DOC of the PSL Hurricanes for several years. He operated a branch of the Tigres UANL Academy (Academia de Futbol) in Corpus Christi for 3 years when with the PSL Hurricanes, developing players in the Coastal Bend with the advisement and mentoring of Marcelino Gutierrez, el Director Tecnico de Fuerzas Basicas de Tigres UANL Monterrey, San Nicolas. This work with the Tigres UANL has helped formulate a youth training program that Jose and the Reyes Futbol training staff have used to create some of the most dynamic players in South Texas ultimately enabling him to effectively train the Corpus Christi Fuel (semi-pro team) which competes in the Southern Premier Soccer League before he joined the Lonestar SC coaching staff and relocated to Austin, TX where he now lives and works.

His family tradition of training combined with his coaching and player development experiences, which originated with his Uncle, Luis Ignacio “Nacho” Reyes in 1972, has produced numerous players and top level coaches, will continue to do so for many years to come.

With our weekly progression based curriculum we cover every topic to improve, create and refine every player into the modern day soccer athlete. We teach our students all styles of play so that they can excel to be complete, well-rounded, capable, confident soccer athletes no matter what position they are asked to play and for whatever club they play for.

Truly an incredible success story

I just wanted to share this story with everyone because I truly believe this is an amazing one. Romeo Garza is a sophomore at Mary Carroll HS in Corpus Christi, TX. He played Division II soccer in the Coastal Bend and was a mediocre player at best, he’ll admit to that. He was overweight, skills were dull, tactical awareness very raw, ran all over the field with heart and determination but to no avail.
